The word from variety is that director Steven Spielberg and Liam Neeson will teem up for a biopic on Abraham Lincoln. It will begin production in January 2006. It will follow abraham Lincoln during the Civil War period.

The newest draft of the script is based on the forthcoming book: "The Uniter: The Genius of Abraham Lincoln" by Pulitzer Prize-winning author Doris Kearns Goodwin.

Has anyone else noticed that we seem to be moving into a little biopic phase in Hollywood? Maybe it's always been that way, but it seems that more and more filmakers are dipping back into that genre again. It isn't that I'm not a fan of the biographical motion picture ... it just seems that I'm not drawn to them the same way that I am to the "original" stories.
